Tertill and Breathing Mobile Washer: Preregistering my 2021 experiments
Our first season running Thompson Cottages is about to get busy, so I have been racing to get a few videos done now. As usual I have a few gizmos and gadgets that I am trying out. I’m announcing them now because:
- I want credit
- To pre-commit myself to making in-depth reviews at the end of the season, no matter how boring my results.
This summer we will be spending most of our nights away from home to be closer to the cottages. This presents two problems:
- 1. How do we wash our baby’s cloth diapers?
- 2. Who will weed our garden?
- 1. The breathing mobile washer? It’s a cheap little device which creates a suction action that forces soapy water through clothes (or diapers) in a bucket (or tub, or whatever). It saves us money up front but will require 10 minutes or so (we think) of labor every couple of days to stay on top of the diapers.
- 2. Tertill? It’s a not-so-cheap solar powered weeding robot. It costs money and some labor up front to prepare a garden bed, but if it works like advertised it may save us labor and allow us to grow some crops (e.g. cabbage) that would be decimated by slugs hiding under mulch.
So here we go.
